Recreation
‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.’
17th Century Proverb
It would be impossible to list all the things there are to do within a stone's throw of Frampton House.
Right outside the door you can take a gentle walk in the Park to the beautiful 18th Century 'Wren's Bridge' and watch the Frome River flowing towards Dorchester. For the more energetic set off on the Dorset Cycle Path which runs by the side of the house and head west towards Maiden Newton. Visit the local Frampton village church where General Colquhoun Grant, the Duke of Wellington's Intelligence Officer at the Battle of Waterloo, and a former owner of Frampton House, is buried. Set off to walk the miles of unspoilt valleys which inspired Tess of the Durbervilles. Play a game of tennis on the Court in the garden.

Within a ten mile radius there are endless activities to delight. Let the girls in your party have a day of pampering at Pure Heath Spa in Poundbury [10% discount for our guests]. Meanwhile the boys can try their hand at clay pigeon shooting or go-kart racing at the World Class Southern Counties Shooting School. Or perhaps cooking in your passion why not try a Cookery Course with local celebrity chef Lesley Walters at Chantmarle House. Sailing, riding, golf, fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, or just enjoying an ice cream on the front at Weymouth after a bit of retail therapy.
This part of Dorset really has it all... not forgetting that the Counties of Somerset, Devon and Wiltshire are all in easy reach for a day's outing.
