Delicious Food

Dorset is becoming increasingly well known for its excellent food, farmers markets and specialists shops. Celebrity chefs such as Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall and Lesley Walters have homes and businesses close by . The local pubs and restaurants cover the whole range of style and prices from the Relais et Chateaux restaurant at Summer Lodge in Evershot to the trendy beach café, The Hive at Burton Bradstock which was recently very well reviewed in the Sunday Times colour supplement.

At Frampton House dinner is a special occasion. Georgina Maynard and her husband Nick are both enthusiastic and knowledgeable ‘foodies’. Nick was in the food business for over thirty years and Georgina was an antiques dealer and journalist, often writing about food and suggesting recipes in some of better known ‘glossy’ magazines.

Georgina is your personal chef during your stay. Much of the meat comes from the farms on the Estate, herbs and vegetables often come from the garden and, where ever possible the food is local and organic. The Maynard’s also have a house in France and this Provencal touch is evident in the dinners she prepares.
